Galen is making great strides in his restaurant career thanks to his outstanding hospitality. Starting as a bartender, Galen has worked at Outback Whampoa for 13 years. He is currently the Managing Partner of Outback YOHO MALL.
What attracted you to work at Outback?
My favourite thing about working at Outback is the casual and friendly atmosphere among the staff. We work as a close team and as friends. On the other hand, the opportunities for career development also attracted me.
What does “No Rules, Just Right” philosophy mean to you personally?
To think out of the box and to believe in the impossible. I always tell the team that great customer service is all about the ability to think of themselves in someone else’s shoes.
How would you like to be remembered by customers?
I want customers to remember our smile. I believe in something called the “Smile Cycle”. When I smile at my staff, they will smile at the customers, and the customers will smile back at me! I want them to not only enjoy our food, but feel happy dining here.
What is your favorite Outback menu dish?
Our new dish, Tomato and Mozzarella Bruschetta. It’s light and healthy, and it gives you capacity to try even more delicious food! That’s why it is popular in Hong Kong.
What hobbies or special interests do you pursue in your leisure time?
I like playing basketball and singing karaoke, but my biggest hobby is taking care of my daughters! They are fans of Outback as well!
