Taiwan native Sophia Pi has over 22 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, and she worked at Outback’s first Taiwan branch for eight years before joining the Hong Kong operations. She is currently the Managing Partner of Outback TST East.
What attracted you to work at Outback?
Outback Steakhouse is a company that really respects its staff and customers. I am happy about working here and the opportunities that I get. I also love challenges and the satisfaction I get when I overcome them. Also, the food here is delicious!
What does ‘No Rules, Just Right’ philosophy mean to you personally?
I believe that ‘No Rules, Just Right’ represents respect for individuality. Everyone has their own personality and thoughts, and that is how we see and treat our customers. We try to cater to their different needs and taste, and give them the most memorable dining experience.
How would you like to be remembered by customers?
I want them to remember that I am a joyful and outgoing person, and I want them to remember the restaurant as a place that is warm and full of fun.
What is your favorite Outback menu dish?
No Rules Pasta is my favorite comfort food! It is a plate of creamy pasta with grilled shrimp and chicken. The sauce is delicious and I feel so content after eating it.
What hobbies or special interests do you pursue in your leisure time?
I have a lot of hobbies such as watching movies, listening to jazz music and hiking. I go hiking every two months for the wonderful scenery and fresh air. I love exploring Lantau Island.
